We greet you in the mighty Name of our Lord Jesus Christ from Galati!

Throughout these very difficult economic times in Romania, and especially Galati, we are being constantly reminded of God’s faithfulness to us. He is Jehovah Jireh!

December at "Emanuel"- inauguration service

As we announced at the time, on 5

December we inaugurated the semi-basement of the Sanctuary, for use as our temporary Sanctuary, until such time as we can complete the rest of the building. We managed to pack at least 520 into the room!

Please pray

that this building will be used to God’s glory. PLEASE ALSO PRAY FOR THE FUNDS TO PAY OUR OUTSTANDING DEBTS!

December at "Emanuel"- baptism service

On Sunday evening, 12

th
December, the first baptism service in the new sanctuary was held. Once again, the service was well attended, with over 520 in the room. One candidate is missing from the photo.

for these new babes in Christ, that they will remain faithful to their commitment, and that those who were present at the service and heard the Gospel for the first time, will come to accept Christ as their personal Saviour.

December at "Emanuel"- Christmas events

On Sunday evening, 19

th
December, we held our annual Christmas outreach concert. Instead of renting the Drama Theatre, and holding 2 concerts, this year, we decided to hold a single concert in our new building. The room was once again full – praise God for all who came to
hear about the proclamation of Christ’s coming to this earth as our Saviour!

There is a section in English, and in the links section "Emanuel Construction project" is in English.

Likewise, we held well attended Christmas concerts for the university students (at the Drama Theatre) and the children (in our new building), where the message was proclaimed by those of their own age group.

Please pray

for all who heard the Gospel message, that the message heard will not be just a "one-off" event in their lives, but the beginning of a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.

Construction project

Once we moved into the new building, all construction has ceased, all thoughts of continuing with the next phase (the actual Sanctuary) are temporarily off the books as we are now concentrating on paying off all our debts. With the falling $ rate, we seem to be standing still at approximately $70,000 debt!

with us that God will provide the necessary finances!

Winter camps - teenagers

During the winter holiday, some of the church’s teenagers and their friends went on a winter camp, where, apart from having a good time, they were challenged with the Gospel message.

A couple of weeks later it was the turn of the university students from the group "ProVeritas" to go on winter camp. This is a group from Emanuel Church who reach out to their university colleagues with the Gospel. (see photos above)

for those who heard the Gospel; that the seed sown will grow into a life-long faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.

Village ministry

We continue to reach out in ministry to 14 localities in Galati County (the map on the right shows each of these localities). This is an ongoing commitment of Emanuel Church, to reach out to the many in our area who have not heard the Gospel message. We have teams that go out to these localities on at least a weekly basis, made up of various people who minister either to the adults or the children in these localities.

Please pray

those who have dedicated their lives to reaching out to these people, as well as the residents of these localities, that they will respond in even greater numbers to the Lord’s call on their lives.

Upcoming events

We are entering the

Easter season when it is a good time in Romania to share the Gospel – people are more open to the message at this time of the year. It is also the season for weddings – and we already have several planned for this year. Likewise, it is a time for conferences, and plans are underway for several summer camps – though with the current financial crisis, it remains to be seen how many of them can take place. Summer is also a time when we can reach out more into the villages with teams from Emanuel or those from other countries on short term mission trips. Please pray
for each of these events – that God’s hand will be seen at work.
